Inspiration: “Have Your Cake and Eat It Too”
Updated: Apr 18, 2019
Happy Friday, everyone!
We are back with another one of our “wedding inspirations”. A great wedding reception is built off a tier of three very important details: great food, better drinks, and a dance floor that never stops! Yet, in our opinion there is an additional feature of a reception that is even more important…the cake! Reception cakes have evolved tremendously within the past ten years. We have seen just about every cake style possible, from the traditional three-tier, to a “cake” fashioned out of mini-pies.
We understand that reception planning can be stressful in and of itself. So, why stress out over your reception deserts when you can have your cake and eat it too? Here is a cake inspiration that we are in love because of its simplicity and personalization.
“The Naked Cake”
If you have been on Pinterest in the past, oh I don’t know, six months then you have more than likely seen this trend. It is called a naked wedding cake due to the fact that it lacks a particular style and does not carry any décor. Because of those two aspects, brides and grooms have a fun opportunity to personalize their cake however they want!
With a naked cake, you can dress it up with flowers, fruit, a topper, and much more. The latest trend happens to be florals. A simple strand of ivory around a naked cake with a soft white frosting provides such a simple and rustic look that screams county chic. Or, if you want to go the opposite route, dress up your naked cake with powdered sugar, berries, and a wrapped dollie.
Dress it up or dress it down, but either way you can not go wrong with a naked wedding cake! For more wedding cake inspirations, follow our Pinterest page. We will see you here next week for another wedding-inspo.
Have a great weekend!
